One Year Bible Reading Plan

77…man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD.  Deuteronomy 8:3

Just as eating good food is essential to our physical health, a daily intake from the Word of God is essential for our spiritual health.  God speaks to our hearts through the Bible.  That’s why there is so much spiritual resistance to our reading it – the enemy works overtime to keep us out of God’s Word!

I hope to read through the entire Bible on a yearly basis, and interact with it through journaling my thoughts.  You may not always agree with me, but I hope you are encouraged to search the scriptures for yourself to see if these things are so!  And in doing so, I pray you will be furthered in your own journey with Jesus!

Tips on Reading the Bible Daily

1. Start reading the Bible today — there is no better time, and there’s no reason to wait.

2. Set aside a specific time each day. Set your schedule and then stick to it. Mornings are great, but feel free to use any time that works consistently for you.

3. Read the Bible for the sake of learning, not simply to accomplish your next reading. Say a short prayer to God before you begin, asking the Holy Spirit to give you wisdom and understanding, then be refreshed by the words you read!
